Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 15, 2025
At ignitemotionlight, we build decentralized applications that prioritize your control over personal information. This policy explains how we handle data when you interact with our dApps and services.
Because we operate in Taiwan and serve users globally, we comply with both Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act and international privacy standards. But here's the thing—we're not just checking regulatory boxes. We actually believe in data minimization and user sovereignty.
This document covers what information we collect, why we need it, and what rights you have. We've tried to make it readable without oversimplifying the legal requirements.
Information We Collect
The nature of decentralized applications means we collect less personal data than traditional platforms. Most interactions happen on-chain, which means they're recorded on public blockchains rather than our servers.
Wallet Information
When you connect a crypto wallet to our dApps, we receive your public wallet address. This is necessary for the application to function—it's how blockchain transactions work. Your private keys never touch our systems.
Usage Data
We collect basic technical information about how people use our applications:
Contact Information
If you reach out to us through email or contact forms, we store whatever information you choose to provide—typically your email address and the content of your message.
How We Use Your Information
We're selective about data collection because storing and managing information creates responsibility. Here's what we actually do with the data we collect:
We don't sell user data. Period. Our business model is based on providing useful dApps, not monetizing personal information.
Data Storage and Security
Most of what happens in our dApps lives on public blockchains—that's the nature of decentralized technology. But the data we do store on our servers gets reasonable protection.
Where Data Lives
Our servers are located in Taiwan, with backup systems distributed across different regions. This geographic distribution helps with both performance and redundancy.
Security Measures
That said, no system is completely secure. We take precautions, but you should understand the risks involved in any online activity—especially when dealing with blockchain technology and digital assets.
Sharing Information with Third Parties
We keep data sharing to a minimum. Here's the complete list of scenarios where your information might be shared:
Service Providers
We use third-party services for hosting, analytics, and email. These providers only get access to data necessary for their specific function, and they're contractually required to protect it.
Legal Requirements
If we receive a valid legal request from authorities in Taiwan or elsewhere, we may need to disclose information. We review such requests carefully and push back on overly broad demands.
We don't share data with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else looking to profit from user information. If our business model ever changes, we'll update this policy and notify active users.
Your Rights Under Taiwan Law
Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act gives you specific rights regarding your information. Here's what you can request and how to do it:
| Right | What It Means | How to Exercise It |
|---|---|---|
| Access | Request a copy of what personal data we hold about you | Email help@ignitemotionlight.com with "Data Access Request" in the subject line |
| Correction | Ask us to fix inaccurate information | Contact us with specific details about what needs correction |
| Deletion | Request removal of your data from our systems | Submit a deletion request via email (note: on-chain data can't be deleted) |
| Processing Restriction | Temporarily halt certain uses of your data | Email with specific restrictions you want implemented |
We'll respond to requests within 15 business days. If we need more time or have questions about your request, we'll let you know.
Important limitation: Blockchain transactions are permanent and public. We can delete data from our servers, but we can't remove on-chain records. This is a fundamental characteristic of decentralized systems.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use a small number of cookies—mostly for basic functionality. Here's the breakdown:
Essential Cookies
These keep the site working properly. They remember your wallet connection status and basic preferences. You can't disable these without breaking the application.
Analytics Cookies
We use analytics to understand how people interact with our dApps. The data is anonymized and aggregated. You can opt out through your browser settings.
We don't use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Your browsing behavior on our site stays between you and us.
International Data Transfers
Because blockchain technology is global by nature, data inevitably crosses borders. When you interact with our dApps, information might flow through servers in different countries.
Our primary infrastructure is in Taiwan, but we use global content delivery networks to improve performance. This means your requests might be processed through servers in Asia, Europe, or North America depending on your location.
We ensure that any international transfers comply with applicable data protection requirements. But honestly, the decentralized nature of blockchain means that on-chain data exists simultaneously everywhere and nowhere.
Data Retention Periods
We don't keep information longer than necessary. Here's our retention schedule:
If you delete your account or request data removal, we'll purge your information according to these timelines—except for data we're legally required to retain for accounting or regulatory purposes.
Changes to This Policy
Technology evolves, regulations change, and our practices might need adjustment. When we update this privacy policy, we'll post the new version here with a revised date at the top.
For minor clarifications or formatting changes, we won't send notifications. But if we make significant changes—like collecting new types of data or changing how we share information—we'll notify active users via email or prominent notice on our website.
Continued use of our dApps after policy updates means you accept the changes. If you disagree with modifications, you should stop using our services.
Children's Privacy
Our dApps aren't designed for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you're a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Blockchain transactions involving cryptocurrency typically require users to be legal adults. If you're under 18, you shouldn't be using our applications without parental supervision and approval.
